Hi letchcj and Bram: I have a rotor setup but didn’t get it to work either.
You need to take a look at which version of DiseqC is supported by your card. You need at least DiseqC 1.2 to use a motor, any version below (1.0 or 1.1) is only used when you have a multiple lnb setup.

- DiSEqC 1.0, switching between 4 satellites
- DiSEqC 1.1, switching between 16 satellites
- DiSEqC 1.2, switching between 16 satellites and control of a single axis satellite motor

So if your card only supports DiseqC 1.0 or 1.1 which seems the case on most cards that are available on the market today like the Technotrend S2-3200, you won’t be able to control your rotor.

The only thing you can do is either buy another card or mount a second lnb to be able to watch Astra 19.2 and 23.5 for TVV (and you could install a tripple lnb if you want the 28.2 as well).

I don’t need the rotor functionality (yet) in my setup, so no real experience with it.
What I can tell you, is that everyone I heard talking about it and using it, had serious issues with it. A couple of them even went with a ‘dual/triple sat dish/dual lnb with multiple input cards’ setup…

My experience:
- mc2xml works fine, I don’t use EIT, as it blocks the card/reception from time to time.
If you need info on it, the TVV channels I use are in a downloadable config file you can find here

- I use 2 cards in 2 separate receiving PCI cards, I have tried using a CCCam or other cardsharing solution, but never got it to work (the CI that came with the first card I bought wasn’t 100% compatible with the TVV CAM module). For now, I keep using the 2-card setup, and am happy to pay the extra €2 per month, even if it was just to ‘sponsor’ TVV to keep the receiver-choice ‘open’.

If you need configs, updates, info, help (except hands-on, no time in the coming weeks here), let me know!

Update:
in the afternoon going to pickup my order :

* DUO LNB QUAD MAXIMUM/WNC 78-88 Astra I/III 0,2 dB
* Triax 88cm

The TT3200 + CI is installed. I’m waiting for TVV till I’m sure my setup works (mc2xml). Is it still that you can not combine EIT with this?

Also looking to share my CI with some extra DVB-S2 cards in the same backend.(4) Is Cccam or smartwii the only way to do this? Cccam is more designed for remote sharing, that’s not really what I want. Tvv asks 2€ for a extr

Hi Bram,

I already bougth a TT 3200 but didn’t had any time to install it in a separate backend. My shutlle is too small for the card+CI
Any update on the diseqc? You also use mc2xml?

Thanks for the info ! I was already planning to buy the 3200 but this information has pushed me over the edge.

I’ll give an update once installed and used with MythTV.

With the official CAM which came with the ‘starters package’, and the DVB S2 3200 with its CI module attached, MythTV finds, decrypts and displays the encrypted TVV channels out-of-the-box. I never had any other brand of adapters which did the decryption any easier…

I really recommend this setup! It’s almost flawless, if you use a recent kernel which holds a driver for the DVB S2-3200… I’m using Ubuntu 9.10 on the backend server now, which works with any modification!
